PTO Manager exists because tracking paid time off shouldn't require a spreadsheet, a shared inbox, and a weekly reminder to yourself.
Time-off is one of the few things every company has to manage, and one of the last still handled on whiteboards and spreadsheets. The cost isn't dramatic — it's quiet. Balances drift out of sync. Requests get lost between chat messages and email threads. A manager approves something without realising two teammates are already out that week.
We think the fix isn't more process. It's a single place where policies, balances, requests, and team availability agree with each other by default — so nobody has to reconcile three sources of truth on a Friday afternoon.
Three principles that shape what we build and what we refuse to build.
A balance should be explainable: allocated, minus used, minus pending. If a number can't be traced back to those three values, it isn't trustworthy — no matter how sophisticated the accrual model behind it.
We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't use your team's leave records to build profiles. Permissions are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface.
Servers render the page, forms work without JavaScript, and submitting a request doesn't depend on a client library loading. Dependable beats flashy for software your payroll depends on.
Being straightforward about scope matters more than a long feature list. In this release:
We are deliberately not claiming calendar syncing, SSO, or billing in this release — those aren't built yet, and we'd rather you know that up front. Our features page lists what each role can do.
